Dive deeper Into the neuroscience of yoga

March 16-19 is going to be jam-packed with practical takeaways to help you transcend misinformation and improve how you practice and teach yoga. But there is more to the conference than just the presentations...

By upgrading, you are able to dive even deeper into this experiential learning.

The Live-Access Pass or Lifetime-Access Pass offer you more opportunities to reinforce your learning, apply it during carefully chosen yoga classes, discuss all of your questions with real scientists, and connect with others to expand your viewpoints.

what comes with upgrading

There are two possible upgrade passes: the Live-Access Pass and the Lifetime-Access Pass.

The Live-Access Pass adds hands-on experiences with live yoga classes, live neuroscience experiments, and live question and answer sessions, all synchronized with the presentations and themes for each day to enhance learning. These will be available for 24 hours after they air live.

The Lifetime-Access Pass allows students to maximize learning, and is designed for lifelong learners. Repetition reinforces knowledge, and having ongoing access to the presentations means students will be able to refer back to them regularly to solidify what they have learned. You will also benefit from other bonuses including workbooks, quizzes, and transcriptions to turn passive listening into active learning. Lastly, yoga teachers will be eligible for 25 hours of Yoga Alliance Continuing Education with this option.

Yoga Classes with Top Teachers

Take 2 yoga classes per day with highly experienced teachers, such as Sri Dharma Mittra, Eddie Stern, and Tiffany Cruikshank. These will be available live or as recordings, and match the theme of each day, including yoga and trauma, yoga and empathy, and yoga and neurological conditions.

Hands-On Neuroscience Experiments

Join experiments before and after each yoga class to help you enjoy the fun of how science works and see the effects of yoga on your own neurophysiology. Examples include heart rate variability, cognitive tests, and mood studies. You will also be able to see how your results before and after yoga compare to your classmates.

Question and Answer Sessions

You will have the unique opportunity to discuss all of your questions with the presenters, who are top scientists in the field.

Lifetime-Access Portal*

For those who upgrade to the Lifetime-Access Pass, you will have the recordings of all presentations, yoga classes, the experiment overview session, and question and answer sessions available to you forever. Simply log in to the Lifetime-Access Portal.

Workbooks, transcriptions, and quizzes*

For those who upgrade to the Lifetime-Access Pass, there will be detailed workbooks that serve almost as a textbook of takeaways for you to continue referencing after the conference. There will also be quizzes to reinforce your learning.

25 Hours of Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Credit*

For those who upgrade to the Lifetime-Access Pass, after completing the conference you will receive 25 hours of continuing education credit from the Yoga Alliance.

What students who upgraded in the past have to say

100% of attendees would recommend our events to their friends

"I attended all of the sessions and have watched several multiple times. I can say that the conference was exceptional. There is no other conference with content of similar quality and as such it is unique."

"I attended this conference because I’m a yoga teacher moving more deeply into addressing students with pain issues. I love continuing my education and this online format with lifetime access was perfect for me. It was wonderful to have researchers from all around the world sharing their work and their views. Our host and the community were so engaging and it was exciting to see how many other people are interested in advancing this knowledge. I would definitely love to attend another conference with this group and I would absolutely recommend it to my fellow teachers and students. I already have been!"

"This truly is an exceptional conference that exceeded my expectations. I learned so much on topics that I was hoping to and even more. The speakers are so knowledgeable and such great presenters, making the conference format being online easy to stay engaged. It’s not always easy to sit in online conferences for hours but this one was not hard to do at all. I’m excited to apply the knowledge practically in my upcoming classes and program as a yoga therapist who lives with chronic pain. Thank you and I look forward to the next one!"

"This is a conference you do not want to miss. Learning from dedicated and brilliant scientists and yogis in their fields is such an invaluable exchange of knowledge. This conference will expand your practice, inspire your personal growth and leave you in awe. Carve out this time for you, there's no other place you can learn from so many amazing humans from around the world. And it's fun too. Get the Lifetime-Access Pass!"

“Too often claims are made in yoga without a scientific basis. This conference should be a requirement for those wishing to receive a teacher training certificate. Attending is also likely to motivate you to continue learning what the evolving science has to say about the practice of yoga.”

“This was such an insightful and informative event! I'm completely honest when I say that there were so many golden nuggets in there, and as a yoga teacher myself, I got to learn about the scientific aspects of fear, pain, brain functions and more, which I take as an enrichment to my teaching. I also want to mention that all the knowledge was accessible, and even as a person who is very new to neuroscience. I also got inspired to read up on their other research studies, and am currently doing that! I would most definitely attend another Neuroscience and Yoga Online Conference.”

Do you Have questions?

Why an online conference?

Great question! Experts who study neuroscience and yoga are located all over the world. Just in this conference, we have speakers from all over the world, including Germany, India, and the USA. The internet offers such an amazing way to connect all of us interested in this topic!

Why the different passes?

We want this knowledge to be available for everyone. While an online conference is much cheaper to host than one in person, there are still expenses. To achieve this, we came up with the following three tickets.

By donation, the presentations are available for 24 hours to anyone who signs up for a Presentation-Access Pass—this is amazing and addresses our goal of making this knowledge accessible to as many people as possible. We suggest a $10 minimum donation. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

The Live-Access Pass allows for students who are interested in hands-on experiences with live yoga classes, experiments, and Q&A sessions, all synchronized with the presentations and themes for that day to enhance learning. Examples will include measuring heart rate variability before and after a yoga class to show the effects of yoga on the autonomic nervous system.

The Lifetime-Access Pass allows students to further augment learning. Repetition reinforces knowledge, and having ongoing access to the presentations means students will be able to refer back to them regularly to solidify what they have learned. Moreover, in addition to the live events to enhance learning, there will be other bonuses including workbooks, quizzes, and transcriptions. Lastly, yoga teachers will be eligible for 25 hours of Yoga Alliance Continuing Education with this option.

Why a conference on neuroscience and yoga?

This knowledge seems buried in the scientific literature, locked under coded language and scientific jargon. Worse, we are in a time when science misinformation runs rampant, especially on social media. Yogis will benefit from understanding science, and scientists will benefit from understanding yoga, and this will be evidence-based understanding. This conference hopes to accomplish more connection between scientists and yogis.

Who is this conference for?

This conference is for people interested in how yoga affects the brain.

For yoga students: learn the science of what underlies your experience of yoga, such as better mental health, less anxiety, decreased pain, faster reaction times, and improved attention.

For yoga teachers: supplement what you already learned in yoga teacher training, and deepen your knowledge of the neuroanatomy and neurophysiology underlying the effects of yoga practices. What you learn in this conference will support you in designing classes that benefit your students, and empower you to explain these concepts in a way that is evidence-based and thus motivating for students.

For scientists: learn from your colleague MDs and PhDs who conduct research on yoga, and then put this to the test with our pre- and post-yoga experiments. Gain inspiration for future studies and connect with potential collaborators.

For others: you are welcome to this conference, and if you're interested in how yoga affects the brain and the nervous system, you will leave with tons of valuable, impactful knowledge.

Who are the speakers?

The speakers are expert MDs and PhDs who study how yoga affects the nervous system. You can learn more about them here.

I'm on a tight budget. How can I join?

We want this conference and this knowledge to be accessible to as many people as possible. This means we designed the conference to be affordable. You can enjoy the Presentation-Access Pass, which is donation-based with no minimum.

You can upgrade your pass by sharing with your friends and without paying. Reach out to us via the support page and we can set this up for you.

I'm not located in the United States. Can I still join?

Yes!! Absolutely!

The speakers and yoga teachers hail from all over the world, and so this conference is designed to be global, despite time zone differences. The organizers of the conference are located in New York City, so the times on the schedule are based on Eastern Standard Time. You can convert the times on the schedule above to your time zone with a time zone converter.

For all of the presentations, they are available for 24 hours, which should make them accessible for everyone around the world.

If you want ongoing access to the content from the conference, consider upgrading to a Lifetime-Access Pass

Please note: the conference will be in English, with subtitles available in Spanish.
